Listening to Indigenous Voices Series

Dr Aunty Rhonda Radley presented the latest in Reconciliation Dungog's Listening to Indigenous Voices Series with an interactive session on truth-telling and ngarrangga (deep listening).

This free event was on Saturday 12 October 2pm at the James Theatre Dungog. With nearly 60 attendees engaging in a spirit of sharing, connection to Country and truth-telling.

Aunty Rhonda Radley, Anjilkurri, is a Birrbay/Dhanggati woman, working across the education and community sectors. She shares her knowledge of Aboriginal languages, cultures, history and contemporary realities, through storytelling. Sharing from the heart she incorporates wisdom gained from her life experiences to support the learning and understanding of the complexity of Aboriginal stories.
At the heart of Dr Radley’s session was the screening of a film she has co-produced on the battle to get recognition of the Blackmans Point massacre site near Port Macquarie. It has now been formally recognised as an important massacre site and declared an Aboriginal Place by the NSW Government.
