About us

The Lyne Network for Social & Environmental Justice Inc. (Lyne Network) emerged in the wake of the negative result of the 2023 Voice to Parliament referendum to progress social and environmental justice. Its purpose is to foster and strengthen people, communities and the next 7 generations in the Countries of the Birrpai, Worimi and Wonnarua peoples/Lyne, so they flourish and thrive. We will do this by connecting, supporting and sharing resources people and groups to amplify our efforts to effect.  The registered not for profit association was established in July 2024. The Lyne Network brings together more than 300 people from existing and well-established community groups actively involved in social and environmental justice in the federal electorate of Lyne in NSW. Collectively, we have decades of experience working with our local communities.

The four pillars (streams) are First Nations justice, community building, environment protection and democracy building. We want to change the things that are not working for First Nations people, the environment and democracy and replace them with sustainable and fulfilling ways that help us all flourish and thrive in Lyne. Our streams will work to bring groups and people together through networking, in order to amplify our voices with support and encouragement, and strengthening our organisational abilities and resources to widen our impact and be effective.
